NEWSC is "Communities working together for cost-effective stormwater management and regulatory
compliance". Since it's inception, the NEWSC Council and four working group committees made significant
progress in their efforts to assist communities comply with the DNR Stormwater Permit requirements. Many
of their accomplishments are maintained on the www.NEWSC.org website.
NEWSC membership is comprised of 36 municipalities and organizations. The membership includes four
counties, eight cities, nine villages, eight townships, and seven corporate members. The municipal memberships of
NEWSC represent 29 of the 39 of communities required to get permits in Brown, Calumet, Fond du Lac, Outagamie, and
Winnebago Counties.
In addition to the contributions of its members, NEWSC benefits from relationships with the Wisconsin Department
of Natural Resources, the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection, and the University of
Wisconsin Extension who contribute at the full membership and committee meetings.
